With my family (Mr Husband is behind the camera)

Hi, I’m Gemma and welcome to Pretty Bobbins!  I’ve recently moved to http://prettybobbins.com so please bear with me while I sort out things like the colour scheme.  If anything jumps out as not working, please let me know :)

About a year ago I found my passion in quilting.  Sewing has always been part of my life, my Mum, Grandma and Aunt all sewed and I grew up visiting fabric stores and wearing homesewn clothing.  I still enjoy dressmaking but modern quilting is my happy place.  I love to design, piece and quit.

I love the creative process of designing something in my head and then putting it together. Sewing, quilting and design are my passion, my creative outlet and my sanity saver.  I plan to take my hobby and turn it into a career, I hope you enjoy coming along for the ride!

I often mention products and shops that I love.  I do this because I genuinely believe in the product/service.  I figure that if I have purchased something with my own money and I am happy with it then you might appreciate the recommendation :)  Everything you read on my blog is my honest opinion.  I firmly believe that if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.

When I’m not quilting or blogging I am looking after my three young children.  We are currently based in Nouméa, which is in the French territory of New Caledonia.  My children are bilingual and believe it or not, I help my eldest with his homework.  I never thought I’d teach someone to read and write in French!!

Please feel free to contact me prettybobbins AT gmail DOT com if you have any questions.  I struggle to keep up with comments but I do read them all and do my best to respond :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Gemma xx

I love the colors on your blog. I’ve read several of your posts and hear what you’re saying about your away from home job. Thanks for sharing as soon as I figure out home to add things to the column of my blog I’ll get you over there.
